FERRYSBURG, MI – A semi trailer truck overturned Monday morning on April 5, 2010 as it was exiting a Michigan Highway in Ottawa County near Ferrysburg, MI. The truck accident happened on US 31, at the Spring Lake exit ramp onto Michigan State Route 104. The accident area is in the far west central section of the state near the shores of Lake Michigan, 99 miles west of Lansing, MI and 112 miles north of South Bend, Indiana.

Spring Lake/Ferrysburg Police had to shut down the US 31 exit ramp for several hours after the truck accident. A crane was brought in and crews worked to put the semi trailer truck back upright and clear the exit ramp for traffic.

Virginia Senate Bill 646 was recently passed in an effort to improve trailer safety while travelling on Virginia Highways and roads. In the past Virginia roads were unsafe because vehicles hauling trailers were not required to use any type of chain or cable that would make sure the trailer remained connected to a vehicle while in transit. As a result unnecessary vehicle accidents occurred resulting in severe injuries and death.

The new law now requires that all trailers have an emergency chain or cable that is capable of keeping the trailer attached to the truck or vehicle when on the road. ... Read More

CORVALLIS, OR – On April, 2, 2010 a trailer truck crashed into an auto body shop Friday morning in Benton County, Oregon. The truck accident happened on Highway 34 in Corvallis, OR. CLEVELAND, OH – April 1, 2010, two people riding a motorcycle died after a hit and run truck accident Thursday night in Cuyahoga County, Ohio. The fatal truck accident also involved a mini van and occurred on Interstate 490 near West 7th Street in Cleveland, OH. The accident area is in the far northeast section of the state near Lake Erie, 117 miles east of Toledo, OH and 135 miles northwest of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Cleveland Police and Emergency Medical Services technicians responded quickly to the scene of the truck accident. Both riders on the motorcycle suffered fatal injuries when they were hit by the truck and were pronounced dead at the scene.

SPRING VALLEY, MN – A tractor trailer truck crashed into a Minnesota house early Wednesday morning, on March 31, 2010, leaving the truck driver in serious condition. The truck accident happened south of Rochester, MN, on Highway 63 near Spring Valley in Fillmore County. The accident area is in the southeast section of the state, 227 miles east of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and 140 miles north of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Local emergency personnel rushed to the scene of the truck accident and worked to extricate the truck driver from his cab. Firefighters had to open up the top of the truck cab and lift the driver up through the roof.

At around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 31, 47 year old truck driver Barry Duncan of Illinois was headed north on Highway 63, hauling a thirty thousand pound cargo load of fireplaces. LONGMONT, CO – On March 26, 2010, a truck driver allegedly operating under the influence of alcohol drove his semi trailer truck through a Boulder County, Colorado neighborhood Saturday night. The truck accident happened on various residential streets in Longmont, Colorado, a suburb northwest of the Denver Metro region. BULVERDE, TX – On Friday, April 2, 2010 just after 3:00 p.m. a dump truck rear-ended a black 1997 Chevy 1500 pickup truck with two occupants, sending it into the path of oncoming traffic on Highway 46 where it collided with two more pickup trucks.

Three pickup trucks lie entangled in a twisted pile of wreckage following the horrific truck accident in Bulverde, Texas on Highway 46 just west of U.S. 281.

In the crash, the two occupants of the Chevy pickup were ejected from their vehicle. One of the occupants, 45-year old Rona Fields, died at the scene of the accident. She was a mother of four. The driver, 61-year old Edgar Boeck, survived the crash, but with serious injuries.

The horrific crash occurred when Boeck, waiting to make a left turn into his driveway in the 21900 block of Texas Highway 46, was struck from behind by a westbound dump truck owned by Stone & Soil Depot and Company out of Boerne, TX. The dump truck was being driven by Brian Robinson, 43 years old, from New Braunfels, TX. The company has a retail yard on southbound US 281, just north of the intersection at Highway 46. ... GROSSE TETE, LA – Four people were killed early Friday morning, April 9, when a tractor trailer traveling eastbound on Interstate 10 sideswiped another 18 wheeler that was parked on the shoulder, lost control, then crossed the median onto the westbound side into oncoming traffic and crashed head on into another big rig and an SUV. All three vehicles then burst into flames.

The burned wreckage of a sport utility vehicle and two 18-wheelers after a fiery crash that took the lives of four people Friday morning on I-10 just east of Grosse Tete, Louisiana.
