FPL believes that the utility wire had been previously hit, and that is why it was hanging low enough to catch on the 18 wheeler’s cab.

MAP

Police and emergency workers responded to the truck accident scene and found that the driver had narrowly escaped injury and was able to walk away.

The truck accident did cause damage to the metal utility wire and more than 3800 FPL customers lost electrical power for about thirty minutes.

The truck accident caused delays on Route 82 as police secured the area around the FPL electrical wire to prevent any injuries to the FPL crew or passing traffic.

At this time there are no charges and the truck accident is still being investigated.

For more information about Florida trucking laws, truck injury causes and victims rights, contact nationwide truck accident attorneys Gordon, Elias & Seely, LLP for expert advice.
