MOBILE, AL – Deonte \u201cBJ\u201d Johnson’s family and high school friends are still in mourning over his death that occurred just after 4:00 Saturday morning, March 26, when his SUV struck a telephone pole on Cottage Hill Road.<\/p>\n

Deonte \u201cBJ\u201d Johnson was a well loved 17-year-old Davidson High School senior and football player, from Mobile Alabama.<\/p>\n

Friends say he was on his way home from prom. Police say drugs and alcohol did not play a part in the accident.<\/p>\n

People that knew him say he\u2019ll be remembered for many things. Among them, Coach Fred Riley says Johnson will be remembered for his generally upbeat attitude.<\/p>\n

\u201cA happy young man, always a smile on his face, quick to laugh, quick to smile, not a loud person but a leader in his own way,\u201d says Riley.<\/p>\n
