PRAIRIEVILLE, LA (WAFB) – A woman traveling south on Highway 73 was killed on Sunday, Sept. 28, when an SUV passed her then collided with a semi truck causing it to spin out hitting the woman’s car and killing her.<\/p>\n

According to State Police, 56-year old Carolyn Brouillette was traveling south on Highway 73 in a Lincoln when 29-year old Ashton Claiborne, who was driving the white SUV tried to pass her. Troopers said when Claiborne crossed the double yellow lines he collided with a cement truck. Troopers said the Mack truck spun out and hit Brouillette’s car, killing her.<\/p>\n

The media reported that Claiborne was ticketed for careless operation and driving with a suspended license during a crash in June and also had a previous record that includes DWI, improper lane use and speeding.<\/p>\n

Toxicology samples were taken from all three drivers and sent to the State Police Crime Lab for testing.<\/p>\n

The incident remains under investigation at this time.<\/p>\n
