HOUSTON, TX — The driver of a heavy duty truck was removed from his vehicle by a fire department heavy rescue team and taken to Houston Northwest Medical Center in stable condition after an accident with two 18-wheeler trucks in northwest Harris County.<\/p>\n

The accident occurred about 3 a.m. early Friday morning, April 13, when the flatbed heavy duty truck crashed into a stopped 18-wheeler truck, which was then\u00a0 pushed into another 18-wheeler truck that was also stopped on the North Sam Houston Parkway West near the State Highway 249 exit.<\/p>\n

The reason that the 18-wheeler trucks were stopped was because a utility company was pulling electrical lines across the tollway and had closed all the lanes during the process.<\/p>\n

The driver of the heavy duty truck did not notice the stopped traffic until it was too late and was unable to stop in time which caused the multi-vehicle accident.<\/p>\n

The incident remains under investigation at this time.<\/p>\n
