HOUSTON – An 18 wheeler accident occurred on Wednesday, May 9, when a semi truck carrying an unsecured load overturned on the East Loop in Houston, Texas.<\/p>\n

The accident happened on Wednesday evening at about 8 p.m. as the 18-wheeler was making its way onto an East Loop entrance ramp near Manchester Street.<\/p>\n

A small amount of diesel fuel leaked out of the overturned semi truck, but was able to be cleaned up by work crews. The freeway ramp had to be shut down for several hours.<\/p>\n

The Houston police told the media that they be believe the semi truck flipped when the truck’s heavy load unexpectedly shifted causing the entire truck to overturn. Police said the unsecured load and high speed caused the accident.<\/p>\n

No one injuries were reported at the time of the accident.<\/p>\n

The incident remains under investigation at this time.<\/p>\n
