JONESBORO, Texas — A woman from Comanche County was killed on Tuesday, August 8, when the vehicle she was driving slammed into a semi truck and threw her from her car where she was then struck by a second 18-wheeler. The victim was identified as Carla Payne Wendeborn, 43, of Dublin.<\/p>\n

The accident occurred just before 5 p.m on State Highway 36 about two miles south of Jonesboro when the Kia Wendeborn was driving struck the driver\u2019s door of a semi truck in the northbound lane.<\/p>\n

Department of Public Safety Trooper, Gary Stiles, told the media that the Kia then went under the semi-trailer and Wendeborn was ejected from her car and was run over by a second 18-wheeler that also was northbound.<\/p>\n

The Kia careened off the roadway on the southbound side and came to rest in a ditch, just a few feet north of Coryell County Road 196.<\/p>\n

Witnesses who were at the scene of the accident later told Trooper Stiles that the Kia seemed to be driving erratically before the crash.<\/p>\n

No other injuries were reported at the time of the accident.<\/p>\n

The incident remains under investigation at this time.<\/p>\n
