ALEXANDRIA, La. — Two 18-wheeler trucks were involved in a crash on Thursday, October 11, which closed the northbound lanes of I-49 between Woodworth and Louisiana State University in Alexandria.<\/p>\n

According to Louisiana State Police Troop E, the accident occurred around 4 a.m. at milepost 78,\u00a0 causing a load of coffee and coffee cans to spill across the lanes.<\/p>\n

Thetowntalk.com reports:<\/p>\n

The crash occurred between a 2012 Volvo truck driven by Tymondd Benjamin, 33, of LaPlace and a 2004 Hytr tractor-trailer driven by Terry Swann, 53, of Merritt Island, Fla., police spokesman Scott Moreau said.<\/p>\n

Swann was taken to Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria for treatment of what Moreau described as moderate injuries.<\/p>\n

Benjamin had minor injuries but declined treatment at the scene, Moreau said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The media reported that the I-49 North reopened to traffic around 5:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

The incident remains under investigation at this time.<\/p>\n
