CORNELIUS, NC — A semi truck accident took place on Wednesday, April 17, on Interstate 77 in Cornelius, N. C. shuttng down the roadway after a semi truck rear-ended a tractor trailer spilling yellow paint onto the road.\u00a0Cornelius, NC is about 20 miles north of Charlotte.<\/p>\n

According to the NCDOT, the accident occurred at about at 4:11 a.m. at mile marker 28 near the exit to Catawba Avenue in Cornelius.<\/p>\n

WBTV reported that traffic was backed up as far as W.T. Harris Boulevard at exit 18 and that one person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.<\/p>\n

The incident remains under investigation at this time.<\/p>\n
