BATON ROUGE, La. — A semi truck driver from Houston, Texas, was cited for careless operation on Aug 5, after he caused a crash that shut down the I-110 in Baton Rouge for nearly 6 hours. The trucker was identified as Daymeon Bradford, 36, of Houston. Bradford, who worked for Fasttrac Transportation of Houston, was taken to a local hospital by EMS. Reports state that Branford sustained minor injuries and is expected to make a full recovery.<\/p>\n

According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, the accident occurred on Monday morning at about 10:40 a.m. when the driver of the 18-wheeler traveling down I-110 lost control of his semi truck near the 22nd Street exit where the big rig flipped over, spilling a load of wooden pallets across both lanes on the Interstate.<\/p>\n

Reports state that an additional eight cars were damaged by the debris during the crash.<\/p>\n

The incident remains under investigation at this time.<\/p>\n
