SHERMAN, TX – A semi truck driver fell asleep at the wheel and ran off the road on I-75 crashing into a wooded area in in Sherman, TX on September 5, 2013. The city of Sherman is located in Grayson County in the northern part of the state near the Oklahoma border.<\/p>\n

A semi truck driver fell asleep at the wheel on the southbound I-75 and ran off the road into a creek in in Sherman, TX on September 5, 2013.<\/p><\/div>\n

The accident happened on Thursday, September 5 around 10:30 p.m. when a semi truck driver traveling south on Highway 75 fell asleep.\u00a0Officers said that the truck left the highway near the Park Street exit and plowed through a guardrail, and came to a stop in the creek.<\/p>\n

Officials told the media that HazMat crews were called out due to fuel leaking into the water. It took 19 hours to pull the 18-wheeler out of the creek.<\/p>\n

Fortunately the driver did not appear to be injured.<\/p>\n
