SHERMAN, TX – A semi truck ran off the road on U.S. Highway 75 on September 18, narrowly avoiding a plunge over a bridge in Sherman, TX. Sherman is located in Grayson County in the northern part of the state about 63.8 miles northeast of Dallas.<\/p>\n

A semi truck driver apparently suffered a medical condition and went off the road on U.S. Highway 75 in Sherman, TX on September 18, 2013.<\/p><\/div>\n

The accident occurred around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, September 18, on the southbound U.S. Highway 75 at about mile marker 55 just south of the Tyson Foods facility in the 4700 block of U.S. 75.<\/p>\n

According to witnesses, the trucker appeared to be in some kind of medical distress as his semi truck veered to the left and crashed through a guard rail into the median.<\/p>\n

Fortunately, the tractor trailer came to a stop just before it would have plunged over a bridge in the space between the northbound and southbound lanes.<\/p>\n

The trucker was identified as 53 year-old Johnny Adkins, from Columbus, GA. He was driving a truck for JNJ Express out of Memphis, TN.<\/p>\n

According to Police, CPR was administered to the trucker before being taken to the hospital. There are no details as to his condition, although it was reported that he had a pulse when he was transported away and that he was responsive when he arrived at the hospital.<\/p>\n

The incident remains under investigation at this time.<\/p>\n
