Forrest K. Brown, 75, of Nevada, Mo., was killed Sunday afternoon when the motorcycle he was riding was struck head-on by a pickup truck that had crossed the center line south of Eureka Springs.
Injured in the accident was the driver of the pickup, Jesse J. Rusch, 22, of Eureka Springs, who was transported to the Eureka Springs Hospital.
According to State Trooper Jeff Brondhaver, charges are pending against Rusch.
He said the accident occurred at 2:48 p.m. Sunday on Ark. Hwy. 23, three miles south of Eureka Springs when Rusch, driving south in a 1999 Dodge Ram, crossed into the northbound traffic lane and struck Brown's motorcycle head-on.
Brondhaver, in his report, said Rusch, in the pickup, was approaching a left curve on a down grade at the time, and Brown, riding a 1997 BMW motorcycle, was northbound, exiting a right curve, on an up-hill grade.
He said Rusch's pickup exited the east side of the roadway and overturned several times before coming to rest in the upright position.
He said Brown was wearing a helmet and Rusch was wearing a seatbelt. The weather was clear and the roadway dry.
