Four Men Killed in Fatal Crash With 18 Wheeler in Kenedy, TX

KENEDY, TX – Four men were killed in a fatal crash with an 18 wheeler in Kenedy, TX when the Honda they were traveling in crashed into the rear of the big rig when it stopped to make a left turn. The city of Kenedy is located in Karnes County, TX in the southern part of the state about 60 miles southeast of San Antonio.

The accident happened around 12:30 a.m. Monday morning, May 20, at the intersection of Farm to Market 1145 and Texas State Highway 72. The semi truck was traveling south on Highway 72 and stopped to make a left turn onto FM 1145. The big rig was followed by a motorcycle and the Honda with four occupants. The motorcyclist laid down his bike which slid into the tractor trailer, but the Honda crashed into the rear of the truck.

Three people died at the scene. The fourth was trasnsported to the hospital, but died. Police investigating the accident determined that the motorcyclist and the four men in the Honda were oil field workers who knew each other and had all been at a bar earlier in the evening.

The truck driver was not injured in the accident. The motorcyclist sustained injuries, but were non life-threatening.

Two Women Killed in Semi Truck Accident Involving Three Vehicles in Diboll Texas

DIBOLL, TX – Two women were fatally injured in a semi truck accident involving three vehicles in Diboll, TX on Monday May 13, 2013. The city of Diboll is located in Angelina County, TX in the eastern part of the state, about 11.3 miles southwest of Lufkin and about 32.5 miles southwest of Nacodoches.

A rental semi truck was involved in a fatal accident involving 2 other vehicles in Diboll May13,2013 .

The accident occurred when two women in a white Honda sedan were hit broadside by an 18-wheeler after spinning out from a collision with another passenger car. The driver of the semi truck, Policarpio Galvan, was unable to stop in time to avoid hitting the Honda, which spun out in front of him.

The deceased victims were identified as 36 year-old Cherisse Lewis-Robinson from Richmond, TX, the driver of the Honda and 63 year-old passenger, Yvonne Lewis-Williams, from Houston, who died at the scene.

The accident occurred in front of the Diboll Depot Center in the 1600 block of N Temple. Although details of the accident are unclear, it appears that one car pulled out of the Depot Center driveway and struck a southbound car and then an 18 wheeler traveling northbound hit one of the cars.

The article reports that Robinson-Lewis was 24 to 27 weeks pregnant at the time. She was taken to a hospital in Lufkin where she was treated, but a medical team were unable to save her or the baby.

The Honda was completely demolished in the accident.

Diboll Police are investigating the accident:

“It’s still under criminal investigation, but it appears that one vehicle was heading southbound and the second vehicle was coming out of the parking lot of the Diboll Depot Center and the third vehicle was heading northbound.”

Investigators plan to view the surveillance video from the Depot Center.

Semi Truck Driver Killed When Log Truck Overturns Near Pine Bluff Arkansas

PINE BLUFF, AR — A log truck truck driver traveling on the Interstate 530 near Pine was killed when he lost control of his truck and overturned. The victim was identified as 55-year old Michael White of Magnolia, approximately 110 miles southwest of Pine Bluff.

According to Arkansas State Police, the accident occurred at 10:47 a.m. Friday, April 26, where White was driving a 1995 Mack tractor-trailer loaded with logs. As White turned onto the 46-mile exit, he lost control of the truck which left the roadway and overturned – spilling the logs and trapping the driver. White died at the scene.

The media reported that weather was clear and the road was dry.

The investigation was conducted by Officer Chris Kendrick of the Pine Bluff Police Department.

One Driver Killed After Two Semi Trucks Collide in Cecil Georgia

CECIL, GA — One truck driver was killed and another hospitalized after two semi trucks collided on a highway in Cecil, Georgia about 17 miles north of Valdosta.

The accident occurred around noon on Wednesday, May 8, on I-75 at Exit 32 when a semi truck heading southbound on the I-75 ran into the rear of another semi, leaving the front of the first cab completely crushed.

Valdosta Daily Times reported that the driver of the rear truck was pronounced dead on the scene, while the driver of the front semi was transported via ambulance to South Georgia Medical Center for treatment of injuries.

According to Sergeant First Class Stan Stalnaker of the Georgia State Patrol, they believe that speed was a factor due to the severity of the crash.

“We’re trying to figure out if the first truck was traveling above the minimum speed limit,” Stalnaker said.

Either the rear truck was going too fast, or the front truck was going too slow, Stalnaker explained, or somewhere in between.

The Department of Public Safety’s Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team is investigating the wreck, as well as the Motor Carrier Compliance Division, Stalnaker said.

The Cook County Sheriff’s Office joined the GSP on the scene. The GSP would not release the name of the deceased pending notification of the driver’s family, and on the scene, Stalnaker did not have the name of the driver taken to the hospital.

Two Injured in Semi Truck Accident Near the Oklahoma-Arkansas Border

SILOAM SPRINGS, Okla. — The City of Siloam Springs reported that two people were taken to the hospital with injuries after a flatbed semi truck reared-ended the back of a cement truck on a highway near the Oklahoma-Arkansas border.

Two people were hospitalized after a semi truck smacked into the rear of a cement truck on the eastbound side of U.S. Highway 412 in West Siloam Springs, OK just inside the Arkansas/Oklahoma border on May 6, 2013. The tractor trailer was completely demolished.

According to information released by Holland Hayden, communications director for the City of Siloam Springs, the accident occurred on Monday, May 6, at 8:50 a.m. on eastbound U.S. Highway 412, two miles west of the Oklahoma-Arkansas state line.

The Siloam Springs Fire Department sent a rescue crew to the scene. The crew pulled the two injured from the wreckage and transported them to Siloam Springs Regional Hospital.

Police Charge Semi Truck Driver in Monroe N.C. Cargo Train Accident

MONROE, N.C. — A semi truck driver, who stopped his 18-wheeler on the tracks trying to make a light, has been charged with failure to stop at a railroad crossing in the Monroe, North Carolina train crash that happened on Tuesday, April 30.

A CSX train plowed into a semi truck that was stopped on the tracks at a rail crossing in Monroe, NC on April 30, 2013 and spilled a load of PVC pipe all over the surrounding area.

Police said that when the truck driver tried to pull up to avoid the train, he hit a car, starting a chain reaction crash with four cars and another tractor trailer involved.

According to the Charlotte Observer, a local witness, Mike Reese said. “We were sitting in the office just working away and all of a sudden it sounded like a bomb went off.”

Reese was working at the Union County Habitat for Humanity office when the train crash happened. When he came outside he said he saw the tractor trailer had been hit by the train.

“He had crept into the railroad crossing to try and make the light as it changed and he couldn’t see up the railroad tracks because of the trees that the train was coming,” he said

The Observer reported that four people were sent to the hospital with minor injuries and have been released.

Semi Truck Overturns Spilling Cake Mix on U.S. Highway 75 in Mckinney Texas

MCKINNEY, Texas — According to McKinney police, a tractor trailer overturned on the southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 75 on Thursday morning, April 25, during a semi truck accident in McKinney Texas.

City crews arrived on the scene to remove “several thousand pounds of cake mix” that the tractor-trailer dumped onto U.S. 75 near U.S. Highway 380 after the big rig overturned, according to Sgt. Chad Barker with the McKinney Police Department.

Barker said the accident happened “right when the sun was coming up.” There were no other vehicles involved and there were no reports of injuries at the time of the accident. The media reported, however, that the driver of the tractor-trailer needed help out of the truck, but didn’t require any medical attention.

Semi Truck Crashes into Tractor Trailer Spills Yellow Paint on I-77 in Cornelius N.C.

CORNELIUS, NC — A semi truck accident took place on Wednesday, April 17, on Interstate 77 in Cornelius, N. C. shuttng down the roadway after a semi truck rear-ended a tractor trailer spilling yellow paint onto the road. Cornelius, NC is about 20 miles north of Charlotte.

According to the NCDOT, the accident occurred at about at 4:11 a.m. at mile marker 28 near the exit to Catawba Avenue in Cornelius.

WBTV reported that traffic was backed up as far as W.T. Harris Boulevard at exit 18 and that one person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Two Semi Trucks Crash On I-90 Near Rockford

MACHESNEY PARK, Ill. — The Harlem-Roscoe Fire Dept was dispatched on Wednesday, April 17, after injuries were reported from two semi trucks that crashed on the I-90 near Machesney Park about 7 miles north of Rockford Illinois.

The accident occurred at about 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning, April 17, when a semi truck traveling westbound on the I-90 rear-ended another semi truck, trapping the driver inside his truck with his hazardous cargo leaking from the trailer.

WIRF.com reports:

Westbound (northbound) lanes were shut down and I-90 authorities and the IL State Police had traffic routed off I-90 at Hwy 173.

HRFD Firefighters extricated the driver of the one semi and transported him to the hospital by ambulance. The other driver was not hurt

Hazmat teams were called in from SERT and Rockford Fire to be dispatched to the scene to contain the spill.

The trailer was opened and the damaged containers of hazardous materials and the spill was contained.

The I-90 was reopened three hours later.

School Bus Rear Ended by Pickup in New Braunfels Texas Accident

NEW BRAUNFELS, TX — A Comal ISD school bus, which was transporting less than 10 students at the time, was rear-ended by a small pick-up truck on Wednesday afternoon, April 17, however, no one appeared to be injured.

The accident occurred about 3:45pm Wednesday in the 300 block of FM 306 near Longhorn Industrial Drive, however, initial reports said that the accident caused very little damage to the bus, and moderate damage to the front end of the pickup truck.

KNGB New Braunfels reported that New Braunfels EMS crews were called as a precaution, but there were no injuries reported, and firefighters put down absorbent to clean up some fluid that leaked from the truck following the wreck.

Traffic in the area was delayed for less than 30 minutes and crews cleared the scene around 4pm.
