BEAUMONT, TX – One person was killed in a fatal tractor trailer crash on October 22, in Jefferson County, TX just outside of Beaumont. The victim was identified as 41 year old Regina Kay Cole from Beaumont.

The accident happened around 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday October 22, near mile marker 844 on the eastbound I-10. Cole was driving a Chevrolet Impala when she lost control, striking the cable barrier in the center median, then swerving back into traffic where she collided with an 18 wheeler. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

There were two other passengers in the car who were injured in the crash. Both passengers were transported to a nearby hospital in Beaumont. One of the passengers was in stable condition and the other was reported to be in good condition.

The semi truck driver was not injured.

Texas State Troopers closed down part of I-10 near the accident site just east of Smith Road for about 10 hours. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
