SUFFOLK, VA – A semi tractor trailer truck transporting a load of frozen chickens crashed early Thursday morning, October 28, on a busy road in Virginia. The driver was injured in the roll-over truck accident which occurred on U.S. Highway 58 in the city of Suffolk, VA. The accident area is in the far southeast corner of the state, just southwest of the Norfolk-Portsmouth-Virginia Beach metro region, about 86 miles southeast of Richmond, VA and about 51 miles north of Edenton, North Carolina.

CAROLINE COUNTY, VA – A driver was killed Tuesday afternoon, Aug 31, when his semi trailer truck flipped over and burst into flames on an interstate in Caroline County, Virginia. The truck accident occurred after the tractor trailer blew a tire and went out of control on Interstate 95 near the city of Woodford, VA. Virginia Senate Bill 646 was recently passed in an effort to improve trailer safety while travelling on Virginia Highways and roads. In the past Virginia roads were unsafe because vehicles hauling trailers were not required to use any type of chain or cable that would make sure the trailer remained connected to a vehicle while in transit. As a result unnecessary vehicle accidents occurred resulting in severe injuries and death.

HENRICO COUNTY, VA – A truck driver had to be rescued Wednesday morning after his truck overturned and dangled off a bridge in Henrico County, Virginia. The semi truck accident happened in the Richmond metropolitan region in the eastern part of the county, on Interstate 64 near the exit for Interstate 295. The area is in the east central section of the state, 73 miles northwest of Newport News, VA and 108 miles south of Washington, DC.

NEWINGTON, VA – Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid’s wife and daughter were involved in a semi-truck accident in Fairfax County Virginia on northbound Interstate 95 near Exit 166 on Thursday, March 11, about 1:10 p.m. about 14 miles south of Washington D.C. The two were injured when their 2005 Honda Odyssey van was struck in the rear in stop-and-go traffic by a tractor-trailer hauling a load of plastic rolls.
