Commuters were backed for about two miles after a four-car accident Wednesday morning on Interstate 15 northbound near Sandy, the according to the Utah Highway Patrol.
No one was hurt in the crash, which happened near 11300 South, said Sgt. Cameron Roden. About 7:15 a.m., a pickup truck driver was speeding in heavy traffic and swerved to avoid hitting another car, but instead collided with the pickup truck in next lane over. The driver then swerved back the other way and hit two passenger cars.
Two lanes were closed to clean up the wreck and the road was re-opened by about 8:45 a.m., Roden said. The driver will be cited for speed or lane travel, he said.
