LODGE, SC – Three people died Wednesday morning after the passenger van they were in was hit by a tractor trailer truck in South Carolina. The truck collision happened on US Route 601 near Lodge in rural Colleton County. The area of the truck accident is in the south-central section of the state, 70 miles northwest of Charleston, SC, and 74 miles southeast of Augusta, Georgia.

Three of the van passengers suffered fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene.

BURLINGTON, PA – A truck driver fell into a creek and died after a truck accident Monday in Bradford County, Pennsylvania. The truck accident happened on the South Berwick Turnpike/State Route 3009 in Burlington Township. The area is in the northeast section of the state near the New York border, 63 miles southwest from Binghamton, NY and 187 miles northwest of Philadelphia, PA.

The truck accident happened around 11:30 a.m. last Monday morning as 45 year old Terry L. Evans of Lindsey, Oklahoma,  was driving his Peterbilt truck north on the South Berwick Turnpike. As Evans reached the area near Hanks Road he apparently was driving too fast and failed to successfully negotiate a left hand curve. MOBILE, AL – A man died after his pick-up truck was hit by a tractor trailer Thursday afternoon in Mobile County, Alabama. The truck accident occurred on Moffett Road/US Highway 98 in the city of Mobile, AL. The area is in the far south section of the state near the border with Mississippi. The region is 258 miles south of Birmingham, AL and 143 miles northeast of New Orleans, Louisiana.

CARLISLE, PA – A Pennsylvania man died Thursday when he smashed his van into a tractor trailer truck on Interstate 81 in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. The accident happened in Carlisle-Middlesex Township, PA. The region is in the south-central section of the state, 190 miles east of Pittsburgh, PA and 123 miles west of Philadelphia, PA.

CEDAR FALLS, IA – Early Thursday morning A semi truck collided with a pickup truck when the driver of the big rig failed to yield at a stop sign. The impact of the crash sent the pickup truck rolling into a ditch, where it came to a rest on its wheels. The location of the accident was in the north section of Cedar Falls about 69 miles northwest of Cedar Rapids, IA and about 133 miles northeast of Des Moines.

The driver of the pickup, Robert Thompson, age 66, was driving in the area of West Cedar Wapsie and Waverly roads at about 5:45 a.m. when his truck was hit by a semi truck driven by Shawn Thornton, 28, of Muscatine, according to deputies.

Medics with Janesville Fire Rescue and Sartori Hospital removed Thompson, from his vehicle and took him to Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo for a complaint of back pain, according to Black Hawk County sheriff’s deputies.

Deputies cited Thornton for failure to yield at a stop sign.

CANASTOTA, NY — A truck driver lost control of his tractor trailer Monday morning on a New York State highway, causing the semi-truck to overturn and slowing down traffic. The truck accident happened west of Utica, NY, on Interstate 90 near the town of Canastota, NY in the far north section of the state. The area is in Madison County, between Syracuse and Albany, NY, about 268 miles northwest of New York City.

According to New York State Police troopers who responded to the scene, the unidentified truck driver was driving his tractor trailer, filled with a load of salt, in the eastbound lanes of I 90 Monday morning. Shortly after 9:30 a.m. the truck driver attempted to pass another vehicle on the highway and lost control of his rig as he was moving back into the right eastbound lane. State troopers are reporting that the road surface was slick, and the truck driver apparently fishtailed on the snow covered shoulder of the road and lost control of his tractor trailer. ... GIBSONTON, FL — A Tampa woman traveling on north I-75 near Big Bend Road was critically injured when her Toyota sedan crashed into a tractor trailer semi truck at about 1:00 a.m.

The woman was identified as 27-year-old Amberlee N. Ochlan of Tampa, Florida.

The Florida Highway Patrol said Ochlan hit the truck from behind and spun into the grass median.

Ochlan was taken to Tampa General Hospital in critical condition. The truck driver, David Coello, 45, of Palm Bay, was not injured.

The crash is under investigation.
