According to Texas State Troopers, the accident occurred Thursday morning, Jan. 24, at about 7:00 a.m on State Highway 95 just north of Roemer Road.

The troopers said the accident involved a passenger vehicle heading southbound on HWY 95 that attempted to pass a tractor-trailer, also headed southbound. When the driver of the passenger vehicle tried to pass the tractor trailer, he allegedly lost control of the vehicle and went into on-coming traffic in the northbound lane of HWY 95 where his vehicle caught fire.

Robinson was pronounced dead on the scene.

The two truckers told authorities that they tried to avoid the car but were unable to. One of the trucks hit the vehicle head on, pushing it back into the opposite lane of traffic.

No other injuries were reported at the time of the accident.

The incident remains under investigation at this time.
